About Me

Meet The Founder

Cherisher of nostalgia, Detroit Native, Avid Writer and Podcaster, Lauryn is devoted to inspiring other millennials to challenge themselves to seek a version of truth that doesn’t yield self-comfort but brings substance to a generation void of answers.

“I’ve always challenged mainstream ideas, I am not a trend follower, don’t live on my phone, and my haven isn’t social media.

Even from an early age I’ve always been averse to the idea of “majority rules” because my question has always been, “Who’s making up the majority?.

Our society has wired us through social media, entertainment and music to unconsciously comply with group think. Unbeknownst to many of us, our ideas, aspirations and movements are not our own, but have been strategically planned and encouraged for us to believe and consume. Ultimately, millennials push the agenda of their own demise absolutely unaware, because our generation has been indoctrinated to believe that feelings are equivalent with truth.

Collectively, this group ends up creating culture and attempts to redefine social ethics. But what if the individuals that comprise the group are lost within themselves and void of substance, yet they have so much power? It’s a scary thought to wonder where they’ll take us”.

The inspiration behind Lauryn Speaks is to provide an alternative to mainstream opinion and create a place for those brave few who are willing to be liberated from the space of their own comfort and face the truth the majority chooses to ignore.

The truth is never convenient and won’t get you a lot of hand claps, support, or popularity, but what it will do is allow you to access the rarest joy in life that is contentment. In a society where everyone is chasing happiness, Remember, you’ll never find the truth following the crowd because the crowd is looking around for what you’ve already found. Truth is the only door that leads to TRUE happiness.
